Portable Appliance Testing

Paul Boyd is accredited with City & Guilds 2377 for completion of in service inspection and testing of portable appliances and following completion of works will issue a test certificate.

PAT Testing - Why? Employers (and self-employed) must ensure that all electrical work equipment is safe, suitable for the purpose and properly maintained in good order to ensure compliance with:

The UK Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations 1988 (PUWER)

The Electricity at Work regulations 1989

Formal Inspection & Testing Each appliance is tested and inspected in accordance with the IEE Code of Practice for in service and inspection and testing of electrical equipment - 4th Edition. Items tested include both 110V & 230V and all items tested are numbered and labelled appropiately as either pass or fail.

On completion of the testing a detailed report and safety certificate will be issued detailing the tests and associated results for reference.

All items of equipment will be required to be disconnected from supply to enable testing to be completed and Paul Boyd Domestic Electrical Services will operate in a manner to suite your business to minimise disruption during testing.

As a qualified electrician Paul Boyd Electrical Installation Services is able to inspect and test fixed items of equpment that some PAT testing companies may not be able to offer as a service.
